On July 26, Ad Age announced the winners of the 15th annual Small Agency Awards. For a second time, Cornett brought home Gold, winning Experiential Campaign of the Year for ‘Horse Kicks’ — our breakout campaign for longtime partner VisitLEX, the visitor and tourism bureau for Lexington, Kentucky.

‘Horse Kick’ was selected from over 500 entries representing some of the best and brightest agency work today.

With more than 3 BILLION earned media impressions, Horse Kicks has become the biggest success for one of the tourism industry’s most talked-about brands.

In total, Horse Kicks amounted to an estimated $103 million in advertising dollars for VisitLEX, shifting perceptions of Lexington, building equity in its claim as The Horse Capital of the World and elevating a local artist on a global stage.

VisitLEX has since transferred ownership of the Horse Kicks brand to Marcus Floyd, who is currently taking custom orders. Marcus has pledged to donate 10% of all future Horse Kicks profits to benefit central Kentucky charities.
