Overview
Cornett, Lexington’s largest ad agency, is looking for a web development intern to join the team part-time for the spring 2025 semester. The role requires that you live within commuting distance of our Lexington, KY office, to be able to participate in, in-person brainstorming and collaboration sessions. The ideal candidate knows HTML & CSS well and has a desire to learn more through hands on experience. They may be self-taught, completed a web development bootcamp, or be an undergraduate student in a related field. This internship provides hands-on learning in web development, with opportunities to work on a variety of projects and receive mentorship from experienced developers & marketers. Work hours are flexible to accommodate your academic and other schedule obligations.
● Experience with HTML & CSS
● Experience with a content management system such as WordPress, Drupal, Webflow, Craft, SimpleView etc.
● Work from our Lexington, KY office at least 1 day a week.
● Eager to learn
● Good at figuring out challenges
● Familiarity with JavaScript or basic experience working with APIs.
What you will do?
● HTML & CSS Markup
● Building site enhancements via JavaScript
● Working with APIs
● Prototyping functionality
● Modifying existing code bases
● Update content on sites
● Performs cross-platform testing
● Maintain code in a version control platform such as GIT
● Other tasks as assigned by Digital Producer and Director of Interactive Strategy.
● Stay current on web dev-related trends
● Someone who is a quick learner and a self-starter will be successful in this role
